Some studies have suggested that the addition of two doses of PGF2α promoted an increase in pregnancy rates by artificial insemination (P/AI). Even so, in the related literature, it was possible to evidence a gap that still exists in relation to the adoption of the additional dose of PGF2α in FTAI protocols as a potential tool to maximize pregnancy rates, which justifies it. per se, the present study. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the additional dose of prostaglandin on the pregnancy rate of primiparous and secondary Nellore cows submitted to FTAI raised in the state of Pará. The study will be carried out in a convenience sampling where 402 primiparous and secondary zebu calved cows will be selected, cycling, raised in two farms located in the Integration Region of Guamá, in the state of Pará, with 331 cows on farm 1 and 71 cows on farm 2. A batch of cows (n = 215) will be inseminated using an FTAI protocol (2.0 mL of estradiol benzoate + prostaglandin intravaginal device with withdrawal on day 9. On day 7, 2.5 mL will be applied). of PGF2a. On day 9, 1.5mL of eCG and 0.3mL of EC, with FTAI on day 11). For a second batch of cows (n = 187), the same protocol will be used, and on day nine (D9) the animals will receive an extra dose of prostaglandin (.5mL of PGF2a).
