Beef consumers’ perception in the Amazon region regarding livestock production and meat quality.
Consumer, beef quality, purchasing decisions
Meat is a source of high-quality protein, primarily due to its amino acid profile and the type of iron it contains, which is commonly included in the diets of many Brazilians. Therefore, understanding consumer preferences, habits, and the factors that influence their purchasing decisions is essential for the market to meet customer demands. To achieve this, an opinion poll will be conducted using structured questionnaires targeting the population of the mesoregion of Southeast Pará.
This study aims to investigate consumer perceptions regarding the characteristics that indicate the organoleptic quality of beef and the beef production system. Additionally, it aims to generate indices that reflect consumer purchasing intentions. To carry out the project, interviews will be conducted in various public places throughout the mesoregion of Southeast Pará.
The anticipated outcomes include identifying the most significant characteristics that influence purchasing decisions and determining whether consumers’ perspectives align with sustainable agribusiness practices. Furthermore, the study aims to develop color-based indicators that can assist slaughterhouses and producers in their decision-making processes.
