HEMATOLOGY OF AMAZONIAN WILD ANIMALS: Facilitating Learning in Veterinary Medicine
Amazon; blood; wild animals; Morphology.
Among the hematological tests, the blood count is the most requested as it allows an overview of the patient's general condition. Among the stages of this examination, in wild animals, the assessment of blood distension can be considered the most important, since it is in this stage where abnormalities of red blood cells, morphological changes in white blood cells, in addition to the presence of inclusions and parasites will be visualized. The objective of this research is to contribute to specific studies focused on the hematology of wild animals found in the Amazon region, with the aim of providing greater ease in the analysis and interpretation of the blood count test of these patients. The project was carried out by obtaining blood samples from wild animals from Fazenda Paricuiã and partner laboratories, blood samples taken which will be analyzed and photomicrographed.
