PARAMPHISTOMIDAE IN CATTLE IN MUNICIPALITIES OF NORTHEAST PARÁ: Taxonomy, Molecular Biology and Epizootiology

Parasitic diseases have strong impacts on farm animals that depend on the parasitized species, the parasite species and the degree of their infection. In addition to the aspects mentioned, factors such as climatic conditions, soil, vegetation, type of farm, race and age of the host are also of great importance in the dynamics of diseases produced by helminths. Thus, the taxonomic and epidemiological knowledge of the parasites is essential for the establishment of helminth prophylaxis and control practices. The present work is justified for being relevant in the identification of the helminths responsible for the referred parasitosis, considering the lack of recent taxonomic identifications Paramphitomidae sp, as well as suggesting its control. These are, therefore, relevant actions so that there is no drop in production, in addition to preventing the transmission of these pathogens to other animals. Regarding the parasite, there are few data related to morphological and biological aspects of the helminth in the North region, as well as its interaction with the host. In this sense, it is necessary to search for information that can add to the existing ones in order to expand knowledge about the characteristics of parasitism.
