RESUMO:

The objective with this project is to evaluate the potential use of palm kernel cake obtained by the steam drag (AV) method, as well as the viability of dehydrating the cake, for use in animal feed. Two experiments will be developed, the first will evaluate the differences in the composition of the palm kernel cake obtained with steam drag compared to the conventional method, as well as the possible changes in the composition during different stages of processing and the second will evaluate the effects of different protocols of processing. drying of moist palm kernel cake. The effects of the processing stages of moist palm kernel cake, the effects of different drying temperatures and the method of steam entrainment by in vitro digestibility, gas production and bromatological characteristics will be evaluated. The treatments for the two experiments will be in a completely randomized design (DIC), in a simple factorial scheme: four processing stages of the steam drag cake (SD) × four processing stages of the pressing cake (P). The design of the second experiment will be in a regression scheme: four drying protocols (treatments) of steam drag cake (SD) × palm kernel cake by pressing (P) without drying protocol. The samples will be collected from partner agribusinesses, which produce palm kernel cake by the SD method or by the conventional P method, four samples (repetitions) of the cake obtained by the SD method and four samples by the P method will be collected for the first and second experiment. The samples will be obtained from different batches of cake production, considering the experimental repetitions. The bromatological analyzes will be: dry matter (DM), mineral matter (MM), crude protein (CP), Fractions of CP, ether extract (EE), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), fractions of Carbohydrates, nitrogen insoluble in neutral detergent (NIND) and acid (NIAD). In vitro digestibility will be performed using the Tilley and Terry method adapted by Holden (Daisy) and gas production. The bromatological data will be submitted to comparison of means and regression, simple factorials will be used for in vitro digestibility and gas production in the first experiment, in the second it will be through regression they will be submitted to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and in case of significance the averages will be compared by the tukey test at 5% significance using the SAS software. After the results obtained in the experiments, it will be possible to identify changes in the digestibility of the palm kernel pie obtained from the SD using one of the drying protocols and thus generating another means of using the palm kernel cake.
