SUMMARY:

Bradypus variegatus, popularly known as the common sloth, is an exclusively arboreal and folivorous mammal, which is increasingly losing its habitat due to the high degree of anthropization. It is common to find it in fragmented areas, close to power grids and highways, causing the main traumas due to trampling and electrocution. Faced with this problem, studies are needed to help conserve the species, and a more realistic understanding of the anatomy of Bradypus variegatus can be of great importance to veterinarians who work in the medical and surgical clinics of these animals. So far, the thoracic organs of Bradypus variegatus (trachea, thoracic esophagus, lungs and heart) have been dissected, followed by scans of both the cardiorespiratory block and each organ separately. The three-dimensional images were edited, the structures identified and links and QR CODEs generated for free and direct access by interested users.
