Neoplasms, State of Amapá, Dogs, cats, cutaneus
Cutaneous neoplasms are frequently reported among the main tumors in dogs and cats. They originate from epithelial, mesenchymal, round and melanocytic cells. The etiology is diverse and unknown, with many resulting from exposure to carcinogenic agents such as ultraviolet radiation. The present work aims to carry out a retrospective survey based on the history of clinical care of dogs and cats diagnosed with neoplasms in veterinary clinics in the Metropolitan region of Macapá, Amapá, in order to determine which neoplasms were the most prevalent in the period from 2019 to 2024 The data treated in this retrospective longitudinal study refer to the histopathological examination reports provided by the clinics containing the identification of the animal, including its origin, location of the neoplasm, histopathological evaluation of the lesion and histopathological diagnosis. In the statistical evaluation, the BioEstat 5.0 program and Pearson's chi-square test will be used from a data spreadsheet built in the Microsoft Office Excel 2013® program, which will contain the following epidemiological variables: species, sex, age, race, location, classification histology, histological diagnosis, biological behavior (benign and malignant), mitotic index, histological grade, biopsy technique (excisional/incisional) and neoplastic dimension.
