SUMMARY:

Tropical aquatic ecosystems are among the most vulnerable environments on the planet and have been suffering increasing anthropogenic pressures, generating a marked loss of biodiversity. Especially when the ichthyofauna is addressed, there is a loss of biomass consumed by the population, as well as a parasitic fauna still little inventoried, mainly in the taxonomic, biology aspects of the parasite and in the parasite / host relationship. This study aims to taxonomically inventory the nematodes of the Subfamily Procamallaninae in fish in the State of Pará. The choice of fish used in this study was based on studies in the scientific literature and on the exploitation of fish used for consumption in the region. The Procamallaninae nematodes are being recovered from groups of 10 specimens of six species - Acestrorhynchus falcirostris, Ageneiosus ucayalensis, Astronotus ocellatus, Colomesus psittacus, Hoplerythrinus unitaeniatus and Pimelodus eigenmanni - from different fishermen in the fishing communities of the State of Pará. in different municipalities. Each group of fish was transported individually in cooled plastic bags, in a box of expanded polymers to the Animal Histology and Embryology Laboratory - LHEA / UFRA. From the necropsied fish with the aid of a stereoscopic microscope, the nematodes were obtained, which were cleaned, counted to determine the ecological indexes of the parasitism, and later fixed and stored in 80% alcohol, and submitted to light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy techniques. and molecular biology. Among the aforementioned fish, Procamallaninae nematodes from Pimelodus eigenmanni were recovered, with emphasis on the genus Spirocamallanus with 2 different species, one of which has not yet been reported in the literature
