Tamandua tetradactyla is a medium-sized mammal, found in several biomes of South America, which has literary incursions, mainly related to general management and behavior, however, little is known about issues related to medical clinic, surgery and imaging. In view of the above, in order to determine pelvimetric values that allow the selection of captive-bred animals with better pelvic characteristics for reproduction, up to the present moment radiographic images of the pelvis were evaluated in ventrodorsal and right lateral-lateral views, of five corpses, being two males and three females, young and adults; and a live male specimen, aiming to discover the viability of this technique. The following measurements were made: bi-iliac upper diameter (BIUD), bi-iliac lower diameter (BILD), bi-iliac middle diameter (BIMD), right diagonal diameter (RDD), left diagonal diameter (LDD), true conjugate diameter (TCD), diagonal conjugate diameter (DCD), vertical diameter (VD), sacral diameter (SD) and sagittal diameter (SGD), in addition to the pelvic inlet area (PIA) and pelvic outlet area (POA), previously resulting in similar values among the evaluated animals. Thus, despite the need of further studies on the subject, the results were positive regarding the use of radiographic pelvimetry in T. tetradactyla.
