SUMMARY:

Alopecia-X is a dermatopathy that has become very frequent in the clinical routine, especially in the Pomeranian breed. It is characterized by developing a set of cutaneous manifestations without necessarily having systemic alterations. The diagnosis is made by ruling out other diseases that can cause a similar dermatological condition, such as most endocrinopathies. Thus, in addition to the method of exclusion by hormonal and skin tests, other factors can help in the diagnosis, they are: the patient's anamnesis with information containing the description of race, age, location and characteristics of the dermatological alterations plus the lines of treatment used, along with their responses. Thus, this project aims at a prospective study, with the aim of determining the occurrence of cases of alopecia -x, in the period from 2020 to 2022, in dogs of the Pomeranian breed, treated at clinics and hospitals in the metropolitan region of Belém. In addition to addressing factors from etiology, clinical aspects, diagnostic approach and treatment. A descriptive and quantitative study will be carried out with information from standardized medical records, with an estimate of 100 canines of the Pomeranian breed with suspected alopecia-x. From these data, they will be divided and subdivided into groups, according to the characteristics, called primary and secondary (subgroups), respectively. The sample characterization data will be scanned into spreadsheets in the Microsoft® Office Excel® 2012 software, to subsequently produce graphs and tables with the results collected and analyzed, and thus obtain the arithmetic mean, standard deviation and sample variables, which is last, by the G and Chi-Square adherence tests by the BioEstat® Software with the significance level α = 0.05 or 5%.
