RESUMO:

In the Tapajós National Forest, a Conservation Unit located in the West of Pará State, northern Brazil, there is a common practice among riparians that consists of the extraction of latex from native and planted rubber trees present in the backyards. However, there are two large planted rubber plantations called Terra Rica and Seringal do Ponte where the population aroused interest in producing natural rubber, but due to the lack of knowledge about productive capacity, the plantations are deactivated. In this context, the need arose to investigate the feasibility of the revitalization of the rubber plantations in order to restructure the activity, making the extraction of latex a working alternative to the traditional population. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the silvicultural situation, the growth, the production potential and to conduct a financial analysis of the production of latex and cernambi in the deactivated rubber plantations. In order to evaluate the silvicultural situation and growth, the data used were obtained from two 100% inventories, carried out in 2013 and 2018, where quantitative and qualitative variables were compared between the measurements and a sample to investigate the relation of morphometric and indices of competition with the diametric growth of rubber trees. Pearson correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to verify the relationship between the morphometric variables and the competition indexes with the increment in diameter. The 2,965 rubber trees were inventoried in 2013 and 2,927 in 2018. The t test detected a significant difference in DBH, total height and height of the bole of the rubber trees between the inventories of 2013 and 2018 and, in general, there were no problems of plant health . The results indicate that the trees with the highest degree of slenderness and the index of overhang are concentrated in the smaller diameter classes, indicating the need for thinning in the plantations, confirmed by Pearson's correlation (r), where the growth showed a significant correlation with the index of overhang (r = -0.1984) and the degree of slenderness (r = -0.2608). In order to evaluate the productive potential, to investigate the influence of seasonal climatic variations and the morphological characteristics of the bark and to model the production of rubber trees, the inventory 100% of the rubber plantations of 2018 was evaluated, where the trees had the production evaluated by means of a random sampling of 105 rubber trees. The collection of latex occurred from January to September, 2018. The yield data were expressed in g/bleed/tree. The average productivity per diameter class and the average monthly productivity were measured. To investigate possible influences on the production of latex and cernambi, the following variables were measured: shell thickness, canopy length, canopy diameter, formal canopy and sociological position. The correlation, through the Pearson coefficient, of the diameter, shell thickness, formal canopy and sociological position will be calculated with the production of latex and cernambi. The correlation of the diameter with the shell thickness will also be evaluated. As a function of the higher correlation variable, the modeling of the latex and cernambi production will be done, using the stepwise method, as well as the CurveExpert 2.1 program. To carry out the financial analysis of the production of latex and cernambi, an economic viability analysis will be carried out to reactivate the rubber plantations, where the total costs and the production in tons with the activity will be evaluated. As for the profit estimate, the commercialization of the production will be considered in three scenarios: virn cernambi in bulk, cernambi virgem pressed and cernambi coagulated in the tray. In each scenario, revenue and cost streams will be isolated and evaluated from the simultaneous application of project evaluation methods. An investment risk analysis will also be performed in @RISK software, where the economic performance information of the three scenarios will be used.
