RESUMO:

The acapu species (Vouacapoua americana Aubl.) Due to its beauty and mechanical resistance is widely used in the state of Pará in floors and structures. The forests of the states of Maranhão, Pará, Amapá and Amazona have a high occurrence of this species. Despite this abundance and demand for the use of wood, the acapu species is classified in the "Official National List of Species of Flora Threatened with Extinction, in the category" In Danger (EN), A2cd "and through the ordinance MMA nº 443 of 17 of December 2014, the collection, cutting, transportation, storage, handling, processing and commercialization of this species was prohibited, including in forest management plans. On the other hand, Ordinance MMA No. 443 of December 17, 2014 leaves a possibility of sustainable management of species, because, according to its Art. sustainable management. In this context, the thesis aims to establish a management system for acapu, characterizing the ecological, structural, dynamic, silvicultural and use of acapu species; determining criteria for selecting trees for harvest and defining criteria for post-harvest silvicultural treatments. Based on literature review and data analysis of pre-harvest forest inventories and continuous forest inventories, carried out in the regions of Anapú / PA, Almerim / PA, Moju / PA, Paragominas / PA, Goianésia / PA, Portel / PA, Santarém / PA and Mazagão / AP, the description and quantification of the variables were obtained: botany, horizontal structure, vertical structure, internal structure, dynamics, species ecology, forestry, use, and economics. A multivariate analysis will be performed for the variables previously described, where the main components will be used for the definition of tree selection criteria for harvest and post-harvest silvicultural treatments. In preliminary results for individuals from DBH> = 10cm, the absolute density is varying between 1.21 ind / ha to 2.95 ind / ha, the diametric distribution is presented in inverted “J”, adjusted by an exponential equation (y = 0.0779x2 - 1.6187x + 8.3931) presenting R² = 0.9546. The distance between the trees is an average of 484.92m (standard deviation 250.6m), a minimum of 1.00m and a maximum of 1393.56m, demonstrating a special random distribution pattern.
