"Flora of the Serra das Andorinhas and Serra do Cachimbo, Pará: Apocynaceae"
Botany, Taxonomy, Apocynaceae, Amazon, Savanna , Taxonomy, Botany.
The family Apocynaceae Juss. belongs to the order Gentianales is cosmopolitan, with predominantly pantropical distribution. It also has representatives in the temperate region and is among the ten largest families of Angiosperms, including approximately 400 genera and 5,000 species. In Brazil, the family is represented by 94 genera and 976 species and distributed in all regions and phytogeographic domains of the country, with emphasis on the Amazon, Cerrado and Atlantic Forest. Many species of the family have high economic value, despite the wealth of the Apocynaceae family in the country, the Northern region of Brazil still presents a scarcity of studies aimed at this group of plants, which results in several incomplete data on the taxonomy of this botanical family. Therefore, the present study aims to carry out a study of the flora of Apocynaceae with analysis of material from herbariums and bibliographic material from the Serra dos Martírios Andorinhas State Park and the Nascentes da Serra do Cachimbo Biological Reserve bringing descriptions of the species, identification key and illustrations botanicals that will serve to subsidize future work. Ecological aspects will also be presented, such as phenology, dispersion, conservation status. The study will be carried out in the Serra Martírios / Andorinhas Park - PESAM, which is a Conservation Unit, located entirely in the municipality of São Geraldo do Araguaia in the southeastern region of Pará. Another study area is the Nascentes da Serra do Cachimbo Biological Reserve, a reserve belonging to the category of integral protection located in the south of Pará. So far, 10 species, representing 8 genera of Apocynaceae, have been lit up for the Serra Martírios / Andorinhas Park area. Himatanthus and Odontadenia are the genera that present two species each. The study will be prepared along the lines of publication in a scientific journal yet to be chosen by the authors, however, following the “Graduate Academic Work Norms”
