"BRYOPHYTES IN DRY LAND AREA IN DIFFERENT STAGES AND IN FLOODPLAIN AND RIVER BEACH AREAS IN ABAETETUBA, PARÁ, BRAZIL"
Amazonia; Taxonomy; Ecology
The municipality of Abaetetuba is located on the banks of the Maratauíra River, the microregion of Cametá and the mesoregion of the Northeast of Pará, subdivided mainly into urban areas, riverside areas and colonies. The vegetation consists of secondary forest interspersed with agricultural crops, as well as dry land, floodplain, igapó, mangrove and river beach. Despite the little original vegetation, there are still places, such as reserves in the urban area and several other localities of the rural and riverside area with potential to house a considerable diversity of bryophytes not yet known. Thus, the objective of this work will be to evaluate the richness and composition of bryophytes in areas of land in different stages of succession and in areas of floodplain and river beach in the Municipality of Abaetetuba, Pará, Brazil. For this, the material was collected and herborized in october/2020, the identification is following the specialized literature, and the species will be deposited in the Herbarium MG. To date, 330 samples were analyzed, containing 59 species distributed in 11 families and 31 genera. Thus, it is expected with this research to publish two scientific articles on the richness and composition of bryophytes in all the studied environments in the municipality of Abaetetuba and on the comparative study between the three areas of Terra Firme in different stages of succession, in addition to finding new records for the region.
