PAGES: 30
BIG AREA: Ciências Biológicas
AREA: Botânica
SUMMARY:

In addition to the processes used to restore ecosystems, we have forest restoration, which involves the gradual reconstruction of the forest, seeking to reestablish, in addition to productivity, ecosystem functions and services, structure and diversity are also desired. The identification of structuring species that influence the occurrence of the other associated species is of fundamental importance for the success of forest restoration in degraded areas, because these species control the structure of the community due to its abundance, spatial distribution, biomass, size or cover, in addition to allowing the forest under restoration to present a diametric distribution similar to that of the original forest, with floristic composition of the main botanical families in terms of wealth (number of species) and abundance (number of individuals). This study aims to select the structuring species for the restoration of mined areas in the Saracá-Taquera National Forest. Eight plateaus will be studied (Almeidas, Aramã, Warning, Bacaba, Bela Cruz, Cipó, Greig and Teófilo) out of a total of 25 plateaus in the Saracá-Taquera National Forest.). The selection of structuring species will be based on the application of a phytosociological and socioeconomic index (IFSE), obtained by factor analysis techniques, whose model involves six quantitative variables (abundance, frequency, dominance, biomass, commercial value of wood and quantity of products forestry) and an equal number of qualitative variables, whose dummy variable assumed a value equal to 1 for those species whose highest accumulated values are equivalent to 50% of the total for each of the quantitative variables that will be analyzed. Through the proposed index, species will be classified into three categories of phytosociological and socioeconomic priority (high, medium and low). The adequacy of the factor analysis will be determined by the Bartlett and KMO tests. With the analysis of the floristic composition, diametric structure and application of this phytosociological and socioeconomic index (IFSE), it is expected to determine the structuring species that should guide restoration projects in the respective plateaus (beta diversity) and which are specific in a single plateau (diversity gamma).
