"Flora of the Serra dos Martírios/Andorinhas and Protection Area, São Geraldo do Araguaia, Pará, Brazil: Asteraceae"

Asteraceae Bercht. & J. Presl has a wide geographical distribution with over 30,000 species. Occur in Brazil, 2,100 species of this family are distributed in 290 genera. The Amazon and Cerrado biomes, together, 73% of the Brazilian territory. As Conservation Units (UC) Serra dos Martírios / Andorinhas State Park (PESAM) and São Geraldo do Araguaia Environmental Preservation Area (APA-Araguaia) present as characteristics of different ecosystems, highlighting PESAM for being an echo between Amazon and the Cerrado. With this in mind, this project aims to carry out a floristic survey and identification of species of the Asteraceae family that occur in PESAM and APA-Araguaia.
