RESUMO:

Convolvulaceae Juss. is a family of vines and shrubs within species of great ecological and economic importance. There are species that are a supplementary source of food for several pollinators and weeds that cause cattle poisoning and losses to livestock. The study of volatiles of this family can help to clarify how their pollination systems work, the intoxication mechanisms that some representatives cause, as well as providing a cladistic and evolutionary analysis of the family based on the chemosystem of their floral volatiles.
