RESUMO:

Orchidaceae A. Juss. is part of the Order Asparagales is one of the largest families of Angiosperms, has a cosmopolitan distribution consisting of approximately 24.500 species distributed in about 800 genera. In Brazil, the family is represented by 2.446 species and 217 genera and in the state of Pará comprises 393 species distributed in 103 genera. It is composed of perennial, autotrophic or saprophytic, epiphytic, terrestrial or rupicolous herbs, whose flowers have a differentiated lip petal, fused reproductive structures constituting the spine (gynostemius), pollen grains united in pollen, ovary and capsule with seeds without endosperm. The collections for the study will be carried out at Serra dos Martírios Andorinhas State Park -PESAM and at the São Geraldo do Araguaia Environmental Protection Area - APA. Due to the characteristic vegetation of two biomes (Amazon and Cerrado), these areas have a great diversity of phytophysiognomies, consequently it is extremely important to register and catalog the species that occur in this region. Given the above, the objective of this study is to perform a floristic-taxonomic survey of Orchidaceae species in the Serra dos Martírios Andorinhas, São Geraldo do Araguaia municipality. The first expedition was carried out in may 2019, 4 fertile species were collected and described: Epidendrum nocturnun Jacq, Epistephium williamsii Hook.f, Habenaria petalodes Lindl., and Laelia marginata (Lindl.) L.O.Williams. Other species were subjected to cultivation in the space of the Paraense Emilio Goeldi Museum Research Center so that upon reaching the flowering season their identification is possible. Complete descriptions, illustrations, nomenclatural notes, geographic distribution data and the elaboration of a taxonomic identification key will be performed. In addition, it is expected to recognize new or poorly collected species, as well as to update and increase the family collections deposited in the herbariums consulted.
