RESUMO:

Babassu presents invasive behavior in anthropized areas and may increase the ability to expand
and colonize in pastures. The study aims to evaluate an intraspecific competition in Attalea speciosa Mart. ex. Spreng. A survey was carried out at the Benfica Certification Project in Itupiranga (PA), where random points were generated  by the Arcgis program, where 27 points were selected for installation as 1600 m² plots, with 2 concentric subplots of 400 and 100 m² at each point. . All individuals with babassu were categorized into six ontogenetics, in which those with 1, 2, 3 and 4 were measured in total height, leaf number and petiole length. For individuals aged 5 to 6 years, the petiole length is removed and applied to a height of the age range, a circumference of the age range of the breast height and the average radius of the crown. To acquire as geographic coordinates (x, y) of each individual, metric tapes stretched in the north and east directions of the plot were used. The spatial distribution pattern was defined based on the K-Ripley (1977) function, which evaluated the relationship between pairs of events at each distance r. Already to calculate the value of competition bilaterally among ontogenetic athletes will be used the distance -dependent competition index of Hegyi (1974). A total of 2174 babassu individuals were found, of which 94.98% were number 1, 2 and 3. No individuals were found in stage 4 and only in stages 5 and 6. Most of the selected plots aggregated distribution in stages 1, 2 and 3 + 4; e, random distribution at stage 5 + 6.
