RESUMO:

The Amazon Biome presents favorable conditions for development of the lycophytes and ferns, possessing the second largest richness of species in the country. However, this region is still little studied, which makes it difficult to know its diversity, distribution and ecology. The aim of this study is to use secondary data from botanical collections providing an updated list of the species of lycophytes and ferns of Brazilian Amazon, mapping the distribution of richness and endemism in the different altitudinal bands. Thus, a data compilation of records of the species of lycophytes and ferns available in online sites, in consultation with herbarium collection, and through scientific articles. From this, a list of distribution and species richness was made, and the altitudinal bands were extracted through the QGis software. In total, were listed 646 taxa, in 112 genera and 32 families, of which 16 species are endemic to the Amazon region. Five new citations are presented for Brazil and a new citation for the Amazon biome.
