RESUMO:

Cangas are ecosystems of high biodiversity, high rates of plant endemism and widely endangered (eg mining activity, urbanization, disturbances and others). Thus, diversity measures that incorporate information on the distribution, composition and structure of communities are especially important in environments whose maintenance of the ecological structure is closely linked to the understanding of the functionality of these communities. Our objective was to describe the functionality of the communities on the premise of the effect of a random burn occurred in the study region to verify the relation of the areas that burned the community, as well as the effect of the burn on the phenological characteristics. For this, we conducted sampling in the Serra Norte, specifically in the N1 plateau, demarcating 10 2 x 2 m plots in environments that suffered burnings and 10 plots in an area with no evidence of burning. In these plots all species (arboreal-shrub, herbaceous-sub-shrub and lianas) were sampled. The species were also classified according to the following functional traits: phenophases (seedlings, foliar presence and absence, flowering and fruiting), possibly associated with seasonality (perennial plants) and those characterized by their syndromes: pollination and dispersion. For each campaign and treatment, measures of taxonomic diversity (Shannon and Simpson), phylogenetic (PD) and functional (RaoQ) of the communities in the respective treatments were calculated. In addition, the phylogenetic and functional structure of the communities were analyzed through the indexes (MPD, MNTD, NRI and NTI) using the software Phylocom 4.2 and program R. The results indicate that the exposure to the areas that burned reduced the taxonomic diversities, functional and phylogenetic, causing a decrease in the capacity of communities to respond to environmental changes. In addition, the phylogenetic structure does not differ from that expected at random, not confirming fire action in the phylogenetic structure, whereas in relation to the functional structure there was a predominance of grouping, reinforcing the importance of the fire action as a possible environmental filter of the community. Finally, in addition to the structural analyzes, possible fire relations with phenological events in the canga areas were identified, which may contribute to future conservation, maintenance and restoration studies.
