Located in the southeastern state of Pará, the Serra dos Martírios-Andorinhas is part of two conservation areas, the Serra dos Martírios-Andorinhas State Park and the São Geraldo do Araguaia Environmental Protection Area. Created by of State Law no. 5,982, from 25th July 1996, the study area is classified as an Integrated Protection Unit located in the municipality of São Geraldo do Araguaia. The Serra is located in a transition area between the Cerrado and Amazonia, but it is under strong anthropogenic pressure, such as deforestation, burning and illegal occupation leading to fragmentation of vegetation. This study aims the survey and taxonomic study of the bryophytes from Serra dos Martírios-Andorinhas. The 809 botanic samples were collected in December 2007 and August 2018. The collections were performed by free walking along pre-selected points. To the present, 248 samples have been analyzed, containing 85 species distributed in 20 families and 44 genera. As a result of this study, we intend to present a scientific article on the bryoflora of the Serra dos Martírios-Andorinhas with identification keys, description, morphological comments and on the geographic distribution for all species.
