"Botanical Teaching in Higher Education: survey and analysis of difficulties and obstacles in the teaching-learning process in Amapá High School Institutions"
Botany teaching, higher education, teacher training
The teaching of Botany still happens in a traditional way without contextualization, inducing the students to develop little critical thinking and learning happens superficially and mechanically, which causes difficulties in understanding the contents. This situation is exacerbated in the initial teacher training courses where, rather than learning botany, there is a need to learn how to teach botany. In this context, the problem for the development of this research is the following: What are the difficulties encountered in Botany Teaching in the training of teachers in the Degree in Biological and Natural Sciences? From this inquiry, we will develop a descriptive research using a qualitative-quantitative approach. Thus, questionnaires will be applied in order to verify the difficulties encountered by teachers and students in the teaching-learning process of Botânica contents in undergraduate courses in Natural Biological Sciences offered by Public Institutions of Higher Education (IES) in the state of Amapá, and in this way, contribute to the reflection and the search for solutions to this problem. After analyzing the answers, it will be possible to verify the methodological paths used in the development of the Botany discipline in the courses, pointing out possible learning indicators, as well as recommendations for strategies and didactic resources for the teaching of Botany in the courses of Biological Sciences and Natural Sciences.
