Papilionoideae DC. (Leguminosae Juss.) In the Floresta Nacional de Caxiuanã, Pará
Leguminosae-Papilionoideae; Synopsis; Identification key
The Floresta Nacional de Caxiuanã is located in the state of Pará and comprises an area of approximately 318,000 hectares divided between Portel and Melgaço municipality in the Marajó region. Created in 1961 the Flona presents the most representative characteristics for the Amazon, such as: dry land rainforests (Floresta de terra firme), flooded forests (Várzea and igapó) and campina. Floristic studies in the region demonstrate the great diversity and heterogeneity of species for the site, being considered greater species richness for the dry land rainforests plains of the eastern Amazon. Presenting as main representatives, members of the Leguminosae family. Previous work has demonstrated 99 species and 44 genera of Leguminosae for Flona de Caxiuanã, and taxonomic treatment has been done for the subfamilies Mimosoideae DC. and Caesalpinioideae DC. except Papilionoideae DC. Therefore, this work has as objective to carry out a survey of the species of Papilionoideae DC. to Flona, producing an identification key and taxonomic treatment of the species registered in the region. This work will be based on botanical collections, collection of specimens deposited in the herbs IAN, MG, RB and informations obtained through the database SpeciesLink. Preliminary data from the IAN and MG herbs and Specieslink showed a total of 9 tribes, 24 genera and 47 species, with a higher representation of the genus Swartzia Schreb. (8 spp.), Hymenolobium Benth. and Machaerium Pers. (5 spp. Each) and Desmodium Desv., Vatairea Aubl., Dioclea Kunth and Ormosia Jacks with (3 spp. Each). Among the most represented species in the herbaria consulted, we can highlight: Diplotropis martiusii Benth. (16 specimens), Taralea oppositifolia Aubl. (13), Pterocarpus santalinoides L'Her. Ex DC. (9) and Amphiodon effusus Huber (8).
