RESUMO:

The Amazon is considered the largest tropical forest in the world, about 60% of which is located in Brazil, has four areas of endemism that are almost totally (Rondônia) or totally (Tapajós, Xingu and Belém do Brasil), the endemism center of Belém is located in the physiographic zone of eastern Pará and western Maranhão, despite its importance for the strategies of regionalization and biogeographic conservation, as areas of endemism, has been little studied, revealing the need for interdisciplinary biogeography. The objective of this research is to make the floristic record of Solanum L. within the Belém endemism center, by means of usual morphometric analyzes of its dispersion units, post - seminal development and seedling, as well as verify the efficiency of imbibition tests in the vigor of seeds of food potential species and in their anatomy.Solanum L. is one of the largest genus of Eudicots and the most taxonomically diverse in Solanaceae Juss. with 1,500 species. There is a great variety of species of the genus with economic importance and widely used in food, however, information about diversity, morphological characteristics and potencies of use of the species is still little known, especially in the Amazon region. Many food species remain anonymous and are not consumed because lack of knowledge, therefore the investment in botanical studies is the first step for these species to be identified and domesticated. The collections will be carried out within the territorial limits of the Belém Endemism Center, in the cities of Belém, Castanhal, Capanema, Capitão Poço and Paragominas because they are important agricultural areas. For the morphometric analysis, 60 fruits and 100 seeds of each species will be used, with the following aspects: weight (g), length and diameter of the fruit (cm), number of seeds per fruit, besides the weight, width and thickness of the seed. For the description of the seed morphology, cross-sectional and longitudinal sections will be performed. For the morphometry of post-seminal development, 10 plastic vessels with 100 seeds each will be used, placed at 0.5 cm depth on a sterile substrate consisting of sand sifted and washed + white sand (1:1). For the morphological description of the seedling will be selected the 10 most vigorous seedlings. The moisture content of the seeds will be made using the oven method at 105 ± 3ºC. For the seed vigor test, imbibition tests will be done by five treatments (0, 4, 8, 12, 24 h), with four replicates of 60 seeds per treatment. At the end of each period, the final wet weight and the final percentage of absorbed water will be measured. The germination test will be carried out after the end of each imbibition treatment with evaluations at 7 and 14 days after sowing, counting the number of seedlings emersed to calculate the average germination time, height, fresh mass and mass of dry matter of seedlings for the vigor test. To perform the anatomical analysis will be taken samples with 20 seeds of each treatment, the seeds will be fixed in FAA 50 and later conserved in 70% ethanol, sections will be made freehand and in a rotating microtome, the sections will pass through the double coloration, blue astra and basic fuchsin. The data will be submitted to analysis of variance and the means compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability.
