SUMMARY:

This work consists of a taxonomic review of the genus Notylia Lindl. in Brazil and phytochemical characterization of species, based on specimens collected in the field and/or deposited in national and international herbaria. The determination of the specimens was carried out based on consulting the protologers, illustrations and/or consulting the typus materials. In chapter 1, a taxonomic treatment for the genus in Brazil is presented, containing an identification key, descriptions, geographic distribution, phenology and taxonomic comments. In chapter 2, the phytochemical characterization of flowers of N. bungerothii and N. punctata obtained by gas chromatography is presented.
