APOCYNACEAE JUSS. IN THE SERRA DAS ANDORINHAS, PARÁ, BRAZIL
Amazonia, Apocynoideae, Cerrado, taxonomy.
The Martírios-Andorinhas State Park (MASP), is located entirely in the municipality of São Geraldo do Araguaia, southeast Pará, Brazil, and is inserted in the area known as “Arc of deforestation”, which presents the highest rate of deforestation in the Amazon biome. Considering the importance of knowing the largest number of species before their reduction in population size or even disappearance, this study aimed to carry out a taxonomic survey of Apocynaceae species of MASP, based on the herbarium material collected of the area and bibliographic material. For the present study, were analyzed 8 genera of 14 species of Apocynaceae: Allamanda L. (1 spp.), Aspidosperma Mart. & Zucc. (3 spp.), Hancornia Gomes. (1 sp.), Himatanthus Willd. (3 spp.), Hemipogon Decne. (1 sp.), Mandevilla Lindl. (2 spp.), Odontadenia Benth. (2 spp.), and Prestonia R. Br. (1 sp.). The identification was based on morphological characters, combined with literature that presented dichotomous keys, descriptions and illustrations of the species. For the morphological description, previously collected and deposited in the herbarium João Murça Pires (MG) materials were analyzed. In addition, visits to the Embrapa Amazônia Oriental (IAN) were made to complement the analysis, and images of the exsiccata on virtual herbarium in REFLORA and Specieslink websites were consulted. In this study are presented analytic keys for genera and species identification, description, illustration of the species, comments about ecological factors such as geographic distribution, fenology, dispersion and conservation status of the species, which will serve to support future works and cooperate for the species knowledge of this important conservation unit of the Pará flora.
