SUMMARY:

Hydrographic Basins are important units for the management of water resources. Society has a growing need for water, for various applications. Brazil has the largest freshwater reserves in the world, with availability estimated at 12% of the entire planet. Watersheds have a determining role as a reference in decision-making to formulate public policies, with a focus on territorial planning and management. The Caeté River Basin has an area of 2,141.96km2, 149km long from the main river, drains part of six municipalities in the Mesoregion of Northeast Pará, Microregion Bragantina and Guamá. The source of the Caeté River is in the municipality of Bonito, State of Pará, and runs through another 5 (five) municipalities in the State of Pará: Ourém, Capanema, Tracuateua, Santa Luzia do Pará and Bragança. Field work to collect and measure water in the Caeté River Basin takes place from the source, in the municipality of Bonito, to the municipality of Santa Luzia do Pará, with 11 points established according to location, with specifications for collection and measurement in water surface, obtained at 3 (three) depth levels, with surface specifications, depth of 1.00m and depth of 1.50m, which totaled 22 specifications having location and depth as factors. Measurements for physical-chemical analysis of water are carried out in two moments, the first moment being during the act of collecting water on site from the Caeté River, in addition to the second moment taking place at LABEMA, the UFRA Capanema laboratory. In addition to the flow measurement that takes place at five points in the municipality of Bonito. The equipment used is a Van Dorn Bottle, Multiparameter Probe, Turbidimeter, Colorimeter and Hydrometric Reel. The UN Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), 2015, addresses drinking water and sanitation: ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, a factor that is related to River Basins. Descriptive statistical analysis was carried out using the data from the physical-chemical analysis of water, using statistical calculations and Box Plot. The correlation matrix between all variables was then generated. Next, a principal component analysis study was carried out using the Biplot graphical method and finally, cluster analysis was carried out. The study continues to reach the annual collection cycle, so that it becomes possible to infer about the annual behavior of variables in the Caeté River Basin. With the flow data obtained in Bonito and the flow data from the Fluviometric Station located on the Caeté River, municipality of Bragança, village of Nova Mocajuba, a study will be carried out to establish the flow behavior throughout the year in the Caeté River Hydrographic Basin. To date, 19 data collections have been carried out, carried out within the period between January 25, 2023 and November 28, 2023. Another 3 collections are scheduled to complete the annual cycle, for December 14 and 15, 2023. 2023, January 4th and 5th, 2024, January 15th and 16th, 2024, with the purpose of guiding the study to be completed in 2024 within the context of the Doctoral Thesis.
