RESUMO:

As an alternative to chemicals, techniques have been used to exclude or lessen the use of synthetic insecticides. Integrated Pest Management emerged as an alternative to the incorrect use of chemical products, aiming to minimize the problems caused by the disordered application of these products. The active ingredient of botanical extracts resulting compound is a secondary plant metabolism, these substances have been developed and biological activities throughout its existence.. The objective of this work was to evaluate, in the laboratory, the insecticidal potential of plants occurring in the Eastern Amazon (cipó d'alho - Mansoa standleyi, melão de São Caetano - Momordica charantia L., e Quina - Quassia amara L.) on the aphid (Hemiptera: Aphididae). The leaves were dried in an oven at 50ºC for 48h and crushed to obtain powder. Treatments consisted of 10% vegetable extracts (g. mL-1) and distilled water (control). The obtained solutions were sprayed on brassica discs (Brassica oleracea) placed on filter paper in Petri dishes containing 10 aphids, followed by the plates were sealed with transparent plastic film, punctured with entomological pin and kept in a heated chamber type BO D (25 ± 1 ° C, 70 ± 5% RH and 12h photophase). The experimental design was completely randomized and natural mortality was corrected by Abbott's formula (1925). The number of dead nymphs and adults were counted 24 and 48 h after spraying, the results were submitted to analysis of variance and the means were compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability. The insecticidal effect of quina extract was observed in aphids in the nymph and adult stages. Cipó d'alho leaf extract had an insecticidal effect only in the nymph stage of aphids. The number of dead insects after spraying with the melão de São Caetano extract did not differ from the control treatment. The extract of quina has an insecticidal effect on the aphid, a key pest in vegetables, in the phases of nymph and adult.
