SUMMARY:

O dwarf-green coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) has high socioeconomic importance due to
the growing demand for coconut water, contributing to the increase of irrigated
plantations. However, information that can help in decision making, irrigation planning
and management efficiently is still scarce for the studied region. The aim of this study
was to determine the maximum evapotranspiration of the culture (ETc), the simple (Kc)
and dual (Kcb and Ke) crop coefficients and the productivity of the water of the dwarf-
green coconut irrigated in a commercial plantation under the microclimatic conditions
of Santa Izabel do Pará, eastern Amazon. The experiment was conducted in an area of
approximately 7 ha (01º 13’ 40.16” S e 48º 02’ 54.35” W), with coconut plants in the
fourth year of production. A micrometeorological tower was installed in the area to
perform measurements of incident global radiation, radiation balance, heat flow in the
soil, temperature and relative humidity, wind speed, rainfall. Maximum
evapotranspiration was determined by the Bowen Ratio method, the simple (Kc) and
dual (Kcb and Ke) crop coefficients, refractive evapotranspiration by the Penman-
Monteith-FAO56 method and water productivity for the years 2020 and 2021. The
global radiation and the radiation balance presented a reduction of 18.90% and 23.57%,
respectively, from the period with the lowest precipitation to the period with the highest
precipitation. The variation in the mean percentages of Rn/Rg for the less rainy season
was 70.61% and 66.25%for the wettest. The average latent heat (LE) for the least rainy
and rainiest season was10.36 MJ m -2 day -1 e 9.25 MJ m -2 day -1 , in that order. The
evapotranspiration of the coqueiro-anão-verde average was 4.0 mm day -1 , with an
average consumption 195.2 L plant -1 day -1 . For the less rainy period, the accumulated
evapotranspiration of the dwarf-green coconut was of 738.5 mm (Average ETc of 4.2
mm day -1 ) and for the wettest of 687.3 mm (Average ETc of 3.8 mm day -1 ). The mean
Kc value found during the experimental period was 1.2. The total production during the
experimental period was 98 fruit plant -1 .
