RURAL TOURISM ASSOCIATED WITH COCOA GROWING: PERCEPTIONS OF STAKEHOLDERS IN THE TRANSAMAZÔNICA REGION, STATE OF PARÁ

Rural tourism has stood out as a promising strategy to boost regional development, generate additional income for farmers and rural communities, and diversify the local economy. The work aims to identify the main stakeholders linked to rural tourism associated with cocoa farming in the Transamazônica region, state of Pará, with the aim of analyzing the perceptions of these actors, regarding the development of enterprises in this area, and identifying the potentialities and difficulties faced. The theoretical reference of the work was the competitiveness model of tourist destinations, which is structured into six dimensions: (1) General infrastructure, (2) Access conditions, (3) Tourist services and equipment, (4) Attractions, (5) Policies public and (6) Marketing. 56 people who work in different segments related to tourism were interviewed. The results of this research will be important to guide public policies and investment strategies aimed at the development of rural tourism associated with cocoa farming in municipalities in the Transamazônica Region.
